EPIA: Global photovoltaics market in 2011 (EU)

EPIA (european photovoltaic industry assosication) published a report for global market outlook for photovoltaics until 2016.

The Basic figures of the report for the market in 2011 has as bellow:

How was the global photovoltaic market formed in 2011

• 29.7 GW of solar systems were added in 2011(vs. 16,8 GW were in 2010)
• Photovoltaics hold the 3rd position in installed power after hydro and wind power
• 21.9 GW were installed in Europe (vs. 13,4 GW were installed in 2010)
• Europe holds 75% share in recently installed power
• Italy is first in 2011 in terms of installed power (9,3GW ), Germany is second (7,5GW)
• Italy and Germany together have the 60% of global growth last year.

Germany and Italy together account for 77% of EU installed power. France and Belgium come 3rd and forth. But France performed well mainly due to past installations.
